Failing to pay child support can create diverse challenges. A 42-year-old rap artist was recently sentenced to prison as a result of back child support. Sources say that a judge’s ruling in May stipulated that the man would have to pay all of the back child support he owed or spend 30 days behind bars.
After failing to pay his unpaid child support, the musician was recently taken to the Orleans Justice Center. The rap artist failed to pay $150,000 worth of child support.
Sometimes, child support disputes are resolved when a non-custodial parent is taken into custody or faces the threat of prison. However, this is not always the case. In fact, some non-custodial parents simply cannot pay their child support for one reason or another. For example, they may have been let go at work or found themselves in an unforeseen health crisis.
